me since completing a formal education in Software Engineering and starting
my career in a technical area. I have continued my commitment to staying
current with technology progress and how that technology can be applied to

Service Oriented Architecture
I have over 10 years of SOA experience in a variety of environments and
technologies. I have been the architectural and/or development lead on
many large projects that have on and off shore components, new
development, maintenance of existing systems, or have significant
integration elements.
At a mid-size financial firm I was instrumental in starting the corporate wide
push to SOA. This included the business as well as technical aspects of the
program. The technology that was involved was SeeBeyond, Java, Rochade
Meta-data Repository, and governance models.
I was contracted by an ISV as a lead architect on major modernization effort
of their software product. This included a major push towards a common
service based architecture for the Unix and Microsoft environments.
Maersk the largest shipping company in the world hired me to modernize a
COBAL mainframe based shipping system. This system was replaced with a
new GUI service based application using C++, CORBA, and Java with an
Oracle backend dB. This was a major project that utilized 50+ developers
located in Western Europe, United States, and India. The COBAL system
was retired successfully and the new application installed and integrated
across the enterprise.
